Photography Posing Guide - For Branding, Seniors, or Couples

Maybe your photos are feeling a little uninspired or you are tired of that mid-shoot panic. Take yourself from tired and uninspired to fun, flowing session after fun, flowing session.

Posing Guide for Photographers

With the poses you keep in your repertoire growing tired, (if you are anything like me) the holes in your confidence may be growing. It is all too easy to let imposter syndrome seep in through the holes and sweep you away.

So, let me be your voice of reason: you are not a failure, you are not unable to serve your people. You just need the right tools and some fresh inspiration.

You are learning and growing (as EVERYONE always should be) and this is a vital step in the process.

I feel you girl, I really do. I had to learn the hard way how to handle it and had to create tools for myself. Just because I learned the hard way, doesn’t mean that you have to, too.

Get Your Photography Posing Guide

So, what on earth is the fix for that moment of panic in the middle of a session? You’ve got eyeballs staring back at you wondering where to put their hands and how to stand.

Step one:

Grab one of my photography posing guides (hint: this is an easy one).

Step two:

Download your pdf. You can even download it to your phone to keep it handy during sessions for when you feel that panic start to creep up and the awkwardness begin to bubble.

Step three:

Create your own set of prompts that feel right for you. What you bring to the table is unique. Your style is the exact right thing for some people and absolutely not for others. That is what makes it so powerful.

Take some time to intentionally brainstorm posing prompts that you enjoy and fit your vibe. Use my ideas as a jumping off point, include some of them in your set. Try some, try others.

Step four:

Don’t be afraid to play or be in the moment. Flow with your clients and what they respond well to. Let yourself be a little uncomfortable, and before you know it you will be PROUD of what you create every single time.

Couples Photography Posing Guide

You have to know that when you put 99% of people in front of a camera a part of them is going to panic. Keeping them calm and returning them to themselves is a skill that can be LEARNED and improved upon. Even if you can usually get through, that doesn’t mean you are getting your best shots.

Pick up my top 50 poses and prompts for couples and give your couples a date night that they enjoy (instead of a chore that at least one of them dreads and will require massive incentive to do ever again) and has them coming BACK and telling all of their friends.
