The Floratory’s Business Brand Photography
The Floratory’s business brand photography session was such a unique shoot for me! Lindsay was in the process of rebranding and reopening her floral shop, now The Floratory in Peoria Heights, Illinois.
The new space wasn’t quite photo-ready, so we scheduled a session at my studio in Lacon! While we plan to get some photos in the new shop soon, the studio ended up enabling us to get some really unique photos for her!
Branding Focused Business Brand Photography
Since Lindsay at The Floratory (previously Village Florist in Metamora, Illinois) was undergoing these big brand transformations, her brand designer, Micah at Vetter Design Co., and I worked closely to bring her brand to life. It was so fun to connect with Micah and put our creative power together to build up Lindsay’s brand!
Micah included some ideas for photography in Lindsay’s brand guidelines (peek below) which ended up being so helpful for me! It was that much easier to understand the vision and bring it to life.
Branding is SO much more than just a logo. Having brand guidelines that so clearly display your brand at it’s fullest potential is a game changer for creating EVERY part of your brand. From photos to social media content to a website.
Your brand has so much potential. It’s kind of a “ya get what ya give” kind of situation. The more you pour into your brand, the more you will get out of it. So, hire the designer, book the photoshoot, create and expand. You will receive way beyond what you could ever imagine.
Business Brand Photography in Central Illinois
Because of the nature of this shoot, I got to take SO much creative control (which is one of my favorite things ever. Really sets my heart on fire.). I put out a model call and one of my sweet 2024 seniors, Lillie, was in! (Check out a few snaps from her senior sessions) We worked together to style some outfits that fit with the brand!
I leaned into a more editorial style. A good mix of detail shots and having Lillie posed. I did a lot of black and white edits which are a little more rare for me! I tend to pull them out for seniors and here and there for brands that really align with the b&w vibe!
Lindsay wanted to work in some disco ball action, so we pulled together these fun displays with flowers. Having flowers around always makes me feel SO creative! Florists are always always a dream to work with!

Lindsay’s grand opening had SUCH a great turnout! I was so happy to be a part of it. She was even able to use some of her fresh brand photos to promote it on socials!
Working with a variety of businesses in the Central Illinois area has been one of the most rewarding parts of being a business brand photographer! I love connecting with so many amazing people and helping so many of them shine.
