Couples Maternity Photos
Couples maternity photos are always so special and fun for me. To highlight a couple and create a shoot that captures their story as it is being written is beautiful and challenging and wholeheartedly rewarding.
Clothesline Couples Maternity Photos
Max and Ashley reached out to me for their maternity photos—I’ve worked with Max and his family a few times before—and I was so happy to put together this shoot for them.
Ashley was really inspired by the clothesline vibe we created in one of my past maternity shoots (more on that here!). I wanted to recreate that look but put our own little spin on it.
Max and Ashley know that they are having a girl, so I leaned into femininity for this one. We went brighter, airier. I thrifted some lace and vintage floral sheets. She brought along some of their baby clothes. I grabbed some florals from Blossom Acres, a flower farmer in Metamora, Illinois and added some cute pink bows to the mix.
We had a lot of fun getting photos with that set up, but towards the end we were kinda fighting with the wind. The three of us couldn’t stop cracking up when the wind threw the sheets over her head! I had to include the photo—it was literally our last shot and we all had the giggles.
Beach Couples Maternity Photos
After all of that, we made our way to the beach (okay, a cute riverfront spot, but a shore is a shore, alright?). The goal was golden hour beach vibe. They switched their outfits and we got a whole new scene going.
We went kind of filmy with the beach photos, which I just love. It was playful and romantic and really rounded our their couples maternity photos.
Couples Maternity Photos
Photos of you and your partner are priceless. Sometimes, we don’t even realize how much we need a good photo. Having a baby is huge. Let it be a reminder to savor the time and invest in photos you won’t want to stop looking at.

I’ve got it right here. Grab your guide to posing couples. It’s the comfort of knowing it’s right in your back pocket when you need it (I like to literally keep it in my back pocket, a copy of the pdf on my phone. It’s perfect.)
