Permanent Jewelry Branding Photoshoot

Permanent Jewelry Rebrand

Everyday Collective is a handcrafted jewelry shop and permanent jewelry service based in Champaign, Illinois! Brittany came to me in the beginning stages of her rebrand to get some new photos for her business, especially for her website. Permanent jewelry is booming right now. Brittany drove over an hour and a half for this shoot because she saw my work on Instagram. If that doesn’t make a girl feel special, I don’t know what does.

Brittany is working with Brighten Made, a brand and web designer, to update her branding and website. I love being a part of Brittany’s process and I cannot wait to see how it all turns out! Her brand colors are pretty neutral, so it was easy for us to bring to life, even though it was early in the branding process.

Jewelry Branding Photoshoot

During the shoot, we took lots and lots of detail shots. Showing Brittany at work handcrafting jewelry, some of her pieces, and even documenting the permanent jewelry process. I brought in a friend (and past client) of mine to sit in as a client of Brittany’s for the shoot. We wanted to be able to show Brittany performing the entire permanent jewelry process in action for social media photos, her website, and to give her customers a strong idea of how it works (especially since she is usually only doing permanent jewelry at popups and markets). It was so fun to watch it unfold. Brittany even gave me a permanent bracelet (and I can attest, after months it is going strong and beautiful as ever)!!

We also got creative with some headshots! Brittany had some CUTE outfits and with the hat, it is over for all ya’ll. The tan bodysuit with jeans, the DENIM JUMPSUIT. Too cute. Her outfits really helped with the mood of the shoot and bringing in those neutrals for her brand.

Boho, simple, clean, dried floral details, and a ziplock bag.

That’s what really set the mood. I wanted to spice up some of the detail shots that feature some of the Everyday Collective’s jewelry, so I used a ziplock bag around the edge of my camera lens to give us an almost film like faded edge. It is one of my favorite photographer tricks. A lot of those shots ended up being some of my favorites. The clean white against the metal with the florals. Beauty. I even made a dried floral arrangement specially for Brittany and this shoot. Having all of those little details really made this shoot Brittany’s.

We got some shots with shipping boxes for Brittany’s website’s shipping page and ended the shoot with some confetti shots (a classic).

Product Based Business Photography

I may say this after every shoot, but this was one of my favorite branding photography shoots yet.

A lot of my branding photography clients are service based businesses, which I absolutely love! Sometimes though, product based businesses are a breath of fresh air. It pulls me to be creative in a different way. Showing physical items in a unique way that compliments the brand and helps customers envision what they are buying AND the feelings they may get from buying it. It is a whole different ball game. I just LOVE getting to show the products in a way that adds value to the business.

Hannah is truly a dream to work with! I couldn’t have picked a better person to do my branding photography. Hannah is SO nice, upbeat, and makes you feel comfortable in front of the camera. She had so many great Ideas for my Branding shoot that I wouldn’t have thought of myself, and she was very open to my ideas as well. I highly highly recommend working with her!
